The “M” word……Menopause

Like it or not, Aging depletes hormone levels in 100% of adults.  Every woman will go through Menopause at some point.  Menopause symptoms are a direct result of the imbalance and or depletion of Estrogen, Progesterone and Testosterone.  We will take a look at these symptoms and how to regain quality of life.

  • Testosterone (yes, women have testosterone!) begins to decline at age 30.  Some say by age 26, by 1-2% per year.
  • Progesterone begins to decline at age 35.
  • Estradiol begins to decline by age 40.

Women may begin to experience symptoms of hormonal imbalance in their mid to late 40’s and into their 50’s. Some women experience more symptoms than others and some women chalk it up to just getting older.

Peri (pre) Menopause:

  • Irregular cycles
  • Breast tenderness
  • Decreased libido
  • Sleep problems
  • Weight gain
  • Hot flashes
