Casey Divin, MSN, RN, FNP-C

Casey Divin is a native Texan that grew up in various parts of the state.  Raised in small towns, he always appreciated close-knit community relationships and has since strived to develop similar bonds with his patients.  He graduated high school from the small valley town of San Perlita, TX and went to Texas A&M where he initially pursued a degree in Aerospace Engineering.  It wasn’t until the birth of his first daughter a couple years later that he ultimately decided medicine was his true calling and a much more natural fit.

Casey moved back to San Antonio and completed his Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2012 and began working in a variety of nursing fields including: long term care, home health, and LTAC settings.  His wife was accepted to Pharmacy school in New York City and the family made the long journey away from Texas to the Big Apple.

Throughout his four years in the city, he worked at a hospital in downtown Brooklyn and at the prestigious Mount Sinai Hospital in the areas of cardiac catheterization, and part of the ER departments.  Additionally, he served as an adjunct clinical professor for the Swedish College of Nursing teaching medical surgery rotations to future nurses.  During his time in New York, he always wanted to complete his Master’s degree to achieve his goal of having more direction and impact in the care of his patients.  In 2017, that dream was realized when he completed his Master’s degree from the State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Medical campus as a Family Nurse Practitioner.

Since moving back to his longtime home of San Antonio, he began working in retail health as a Nurse Practitioner seeing a variety of acute ailments.  Wanting greater control over preventing chronic disease in his patients and with a deep interest in lifestyle affecting overall health the Institute for Functional Health was an instinctive fit.   After seeing a variety of patient’s and his parents suffer from chronic or autoimmune diseases he was drawn into the field of Functional Medicine where he seeks root cause of disease and prevention.

Casey loves spending time with his wife and 3 daughters, cooking, and the outdoors.
